The NOJHL Champion Greater Sudbury Cubs will begin the process of defending their NOJHL
Championship title this week when they will play back-to-back home games at the Countryside
Sports Complex beginning on Thursday night when they host the Soo Thunderbirds.
On Friday night, the Cubs will host the Hearst Lumberjacks at the Countryside Sports Complex.
Both games begin at 7:05 and NORTHERN HOCKEY ACADEMY will be the feature sponsor for
both contests. The Cubs, Thunderbirds and Lumberjacks are considered to be three of the top
teams in the NOJHL this season.
On Thursday night, former Cubs goaltender and Play-off MVP Noah Metivier will suit-up for his
hometown team and will face his Cubs teammates for the first time since Metivier back-stopped
the Cubs to a NOJHL Championship back in April.
Prior to Thursday’s game, the Cubs will also unveil their 2024 NOJHL Championship Banner
that will be prominently displayed in the Countryside Sports Complex. Cubs veteran Play-by-
Play Announcer Thomas Mercier will also be introducing each Cubs player to the spectators
prior to the start of the game.
This year, the Cubs line-up features last season’s NOJHL MVP and League Scoring Champion
Lucas Signoretti. The highly-skilled 20-year-old superstar is regarded as one of the most prolific
goal scorers in the Country. Cubs fans don’t want to miss watching the star forward in action all
season long.
Cubs Season Passes are available for purchase at the games that include all 25 regular season
home games, 2 NOJHL Showcase games and 2 bonus home play-off games for only $300 per
adult, $200 for juniors or seniors and children passes are only $100. Season pass holders will
save well over $100 off regular priced game tickets.
