The Sudbury Cubs Jr. A hockey club is set to begin their six-week Spring Development Camp for AAA- calibre local players that are 14-16 years of age. The development camp begins on Tuesday, May 2nd at the Countryside Sports Complex.
The Future Cubs Development camp features two high-tempo practice sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday followed by a scrimmage session each Thursday. The camp will also feature off-ice testing by REPerformance that will provide participants with a benchmark for fitness and strength improvement. In addition, REPerformance will provide participants with a hockey-focused dryland work-out plan courtesy of REPerformance.
“We began this camp three years ago during the pandemic to provide some player development for local prospects and allow the Cubs coaching staff to identify future prospects for the Cubs team” notes Cubs Managing Director Blaine Smith. “We provide specific development programs including individual player development in difficult teaching areas like making hard accurate passes while in motion. The key to our camp is inviting some guest coaches that bring an OHL and NHL element to our camp. We are grateful to all coaching friends of the Cubs organization who are eager and willing to assist us in providing unique development to young prospects from the Greater Sudbury area.”
