SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that the forward trio of Brant Romaniuk (Timmins Rock), Lucas Signoretti (Greater Sudbury Cubs) and Graydon Guthrie (Espanola Paper Kings), have been named its BrokerLink Insurance 3 Stars of the Week, for the period concluding Sept. 22.
Brant Romaniuk, (F) Timmins Rock: Skating for his hometown Timmins side, the 16-year-old Romaniuk provided a pair of multi-point performances in a couple of Rock victories.
He began with a goal and an assist in a triumph over Powassan at home, then followed that up by tallying twice in road result at Kirkland Lake, that featured the game-winning marker.
Romaniuk has etched his name on the game sheet in all four Rock games this season, and dating back to last season, has points in 11 consecutive contests.
Lucas Signoretti, (F) Greater Sudbury Cubs: Contributing in all three of Greater Sudbury’s match-ups during the time frame, Signoretti’s efforts helped the Cubs pick-up five of a possible six points.
The 20-year-old from Kanata, Ont., began with an assist on the game-winner versus Elliot Lake Thursday, then had a pair of goals, including one while shorthanded, in an overtime setback at Hearst Friday.
Signoretti then capped off his week with the deciding tally in the third period, in a road victory at Iroquois Falls.
Graydon Guthrie, (F) Espanola Paper Kings: Hailing from Bracebridge, Ont., the 19-year-old Guthrie had a league-best four goals to his credit in a pair of road games.
Highlighting his work was his first career hat trick, that was finished off with the game-winner in overtime Saturday, to go along with an earlier assist.
Guthrie also scored Sunday in road defeat at Blind River to raise his overall NOJHL tally total to 33, in this, the beginning of his third year in the league.
