The Greater Sudbury Cubs Jr. A Hockey Club are pleased to announce the commitment of 6’1”, 180 lb right winger AIDEN LANDERS to the team for the 2022-23 NOJHL season. Landers, 18, played for the Alliston Hornets of the Provincial Junior Hockey League where he recorded 12 points in 26 games in his first season of junior hockey. Landers was subsequently invited to attend the Cubs May Prospect Camp where his offensive skills were on display for the Cubs coaching staff to see.
“Aiden was one of the nicest surprises at our May Prospect Camp as he has good size and offensive skills and he is only 18 years of age” notes Cubs Head Coach Darryl Moxam. “Aiden is another young prospect that takes his hockey and education very seriously and he has outstanding character and leadership qualities. We are eager to work with Aiden and develop his skills to help our club achieve success this season and assist with his personal development.”
“After speaking with the Cubs management, attending the Prospect camp, and meeting the coaching staff, I knew this was where I wanted to play this season” notes the articulate young man from Everett, Ontario. “Coach Moxam and the staff are committed to building a program that promotes player development and continued education as a foundation for success in winning a championship. The opportunities that the Sudbury Cubs players have to move on and play in the OHL, CIS, and NCAA are extremely important to my future goals. I cannot wait to play in the great hockey city of Sudbury and show everyone that I work hard, play hard and am committed to making an impact on the team and the community.”
The Sudbury Cubs will commence their NOJHL season with a back-to-back HOME double-header games on Thursday, September 8th vs Powassan Voodoos and on Friday, September 9th vs Hearst Lumberjacks. Cubs home games will have a 7:05 pm start-time at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex this season. Free parking, safe illuminated parking lots and ‘family-friendly’ ticket pricing will be provided at all Cubs home games this season!
